I have always loved drawing and painting, and won my first of many local drawing competitions at the age of three!
Throughout school I had no idea what I wanted to do when I grew up, and at that time, being an artist was totally off the cards. I chopped and changed between; Vet, Archaeologist, and even considered a career in Engineering but in the end, decided that Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design in Dundee was the one for me.
Although I attended art school and studied Textile Design, I always had an ability of effortlessly creating realistic paintings and drawings which makes me really stand by the statement that I am a self taught artist.
Although looking at my work, you’d believe I’m a lover of realism, my heart lies with mark making and contemporary abstract art - hence the textile design route!
I technically created my first ever pet portrait back in 2012 of my friends Dalmation, however, I have been taking commissions since 2019. As of 2024, I have had the privilege of working on over sixty portraits of much loved, furry and non furry family members.
When I was planning my own wedding in 2022, live wedding painting was something I had only seen in America, and at the time, couldn’t find anyone local to me or in Greece offering it as a service. This led me to taking the plunge at my first wedding in September of 2022 and since then I have been honoured to paint over thirty weddings.
I believe my genuine love of weddings, and friendly personality is what attracts my couples to choosing me as their live wedding artist and I couldn’t imagine a better job in the world - other than being my dog Oreo’s full time maid of course!
Hands down my favourite artist/ designer of all time is the phenomenal Lee McQueen of Alexander McQueen. Whenever I’m feeling uninspired, I whip out my coffee table book and it quite literally sets me off down a rabbit hole with ideas.
In complete contrast from that, I love hints of neon and bright colours - a trick I use in my detailed coloured pencil and pastel drawings, which I blame on dancing competitions from when I was young.
